Roman Urdu

Shaq se hoi ibtida
Dooi ne ki inteha

Aur yun tum hoay bey wafa
Phir shuru hoi yeh behas bey waja

Achanak ban gai yeh khala, Maidan-e-Karbala

Tere ishq main jo shaheed hoey hum
Hussain ki awaaz sunai di

Allah Hu Noor U Sama W’Ati W’Al Ard

English

Doubt gave birth to the beginning
Duality crossed the limit

Hence you became unfaithful
Then this argument started without a reason

Suddenly this space turned into the land of Karbala

As I martyred in your devotion
The voice of Hussain was heard

God is the Light of the Heavens and the Earth

Note: 1. Hussain (peace be upon him) was the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who along with his family and close friends was martyred during the battle of Karbala, on the 10th of Muharram. Muslims around the world mourn their sacrifice, every year, in the Islamic month of Muharram.

2. Allah Hu Noor Us Sama W’ati W’al Ard is a verse from the Holy Qur’an, repeated several times in the book. It literally means, “God is Light of the Heavens and the Earth.”
