Belgian Service Designers unite!

If you have been reading our blog, you know that since July 2017 Peel, University of Antwerp and Knight Moves joined forces to found the Belgian Chapter of the international association Service Design Network. Our mission is to grow the market for Service Design — commercial and public — and enable opportunities for members to create better and more human services in Belgium. To become a recognized country chapter we had to pass the building phase, in which first events & communication channels are set up. During the evening of September 28, the first event of SDN Belgium became a fact!

Close to 50 service design enthusiast were present in the creative offices of Knight Moves to brainstorm about Service Design today, in the future and how to develop the chapter together. Personally, it gave me a really happy feeling to see and meet all these people with the same kind of passion!

Breakout sessions

First everyone was informed about the Global Service Design Network, then people were invited to three interactive breakout sessions. A lot of input was gathered and some interesting ideas were generated. You can find all the insights here. As part of the organisation crew, I can say the night was a real success! Of course this was only the start, but you know what they say: a good start is half the battle.
