MrsMilky & Peeps Club
My name is Kate, I’m the artist and founder of an NFT project called Peeps Club. My online persona came from the hubby and his username MilkyTaste. Long story short, I jumped into discord to join his AMA in one of his favourite servers. Without too much prompting the jokes about MrsMilky arrived and I liked it. It was fun and it stuck.
A bit about me
I’m a 32 year old mum of 3 kids. Our mini peeps and Milky are my world. Our household is a manic blended family with all the joy and mayhem that comes with it. ~5 years ago I became a stay at home mum, which is a misnomer since I was also pursuing a passion as a Freelance Salesforce Consultant. Fast forward a couple of years and I started a Tech Company for Salesforce Consultancy. I help small businesses customise the system to work for their unique needs.
In ~August 2021, Milky found a way to show me the joys of NFTs.
If you check out https://mrsmilky.art/ you can see the journey and projects I’ve fallen in love with. There are so many things in this space to enjoy, people come for a range of reasons from the investment possibilities to buying and selling art pieces to creating whole worlds in the metaverse.
During this time I was also struggling with trying to find my community, my people in ‘real life’. We were in the midst of our Level 4 Lockdowns, and I was going a bit stir crazy. Milky suggested we start up a project.
Peeps was reborn.
If you’ve read my road to peeps in the discord, you will know that I have been drawing these characters since I was 15. They started as doodles in class at highschool. In my 20s, I took a screenprinting course and started considering a clothing store around them and their worlds. Life, work and travel got in the way, the supplies got put in the cupboard. The peeps popped up every now and then with drawings for the kids.
This changed when Milky helped me bring them back with a passion. Doing art again has been amazing, and I think about how to bring them to life as an artist, as a brand and as a business all the time. So much so, that in the last few months my company as shifted, slowly but surely to include blockchain development, NFT projects and an underlying theme that I can’t ignore.
I have found a home in the NFT Space, from the Cosmic Cowgirls to the Kindness Project. All the friends I’ve made across different timezones, different backgrounds, different homes.
Peeps were born to represent people.
To be a positive representation for people to be able to relate to. For my kids to be able to see themselves in a character, for YOU to be able to see yourself in a character. I will fight for that ability. I will fight for my kids to be able to relate to something so easily. Being able to see yourself in places worldwide and know that being you is ok, is fundamental to feeling secure and confident.
I truly think that there is so much potential to change the world in this space. From allowing more people to grow as entrepreneurs, to building up people in the artistic space, to being able to reach global audiences, to giving people control of their portfolios.
Education and Knowledge is power.
Let’s share that power. With the Peeps University that is just what we intend to do. Sharing the information and knowledge that we have gained as we navigate this space. Empowering more people to feel comfortable in the NFT, web3, new world that is being built before our eyes.
I want to help people with this space.
I also want to help people feel represented.
The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind of emotions. My passions of helping people, from the small businesses I work with, to my family, to the budding community with a much wider scope that we want to reach, were all coming to a head.
A decision needed to be made. Today, I am officially all in.
The plans we have are exciting. I want to share them with you.
I want you to be able to contribute to them.
Peeps isn’t just me. Peeps isn’t just MrsMilky.
