AAVE is a decentralized finance protocol enabling users to lend, borrow, and earn interest on crypto assets, with over $8 billion of liquidity across various networks. Governed by its community, it allows token holders to vote on proposals and contributes to the protocol’s safety with a community treasury and safety module. The protocol emphasizes security with regular audits and fosters growth through grants and comprehensive developer support.
Business Challenges
Effective knowledge sharing is highly important for communities such as AAVE. However, the current approach within the AAVE ecosystem using Discord and Telegram for community Q&A is proven to be ineffective.
AAVE DAO partnered with Peeranha in order to optimize the knowledge-sharing flow and increase AAVE exposure in Google.
We found two several big areas within AAVE ecosystem where improvements could be made:
Unstructured Q&A
Questions in Discord and Telegram have a short window of visibility to the community and disappear in the flow of the new messages in communication threads. As a result, existing knowledge is hard to find causing the same questions to be asked repeatedly.
Continuous Loss of Important Community Knowledge and Lack of exposure to Google Search
Messengers like Discord and Telegram as the most widely used tools for Community Q&A and Discussions have several significant disadvantages from marketing prospective:
- Questions and answers are not indexed by search engines as Google;
- Ecosystem is losing SEO content;
Language Barrier
AAVE has Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese subchannels in the Discord community that operate in silos.
Solution
In accordance with the grant terms, Peeranha established a public forum for the AAVE community within the company’s branding guide. To increase AAVE Forum visibility, Peeranha has collected and optimized for search engine 200 questions from AAVE Discord.
Results Achieved
As a result, Peeranha has streamlined knowledge management & discovery in the AAVE community. The proposed knowledge sharing flow broke down the silos between communication in various channels and languages, structured the most valuable knowledge, and exposed it to search engines such as Google.
Community Forum
An improved knowledge-sharing ecosystem will make it easier for people to find information about AAVE. We have build a sophisticated knowledge base: AAVE Forum and Documentation — that is structured and curated by the community.
SEO
Peeranha pushed AAVE to the top of google search in certain keywords categories. This not only benefited the AAVE community internally but also helped to extend the reach externally with organic search.
One Platform but Multiple Languages
Knowledge sharing flows with the approach proposed by Peeranha allowing users that reside in different channels and speak different languages to collaborate effectively in their native language.
