1 A blood test would detect melanoma in time, the most aggressive skin cancer.

Melanoma, the most aggressive skin cancer, can be cured in 90% of cases if detected early. It may soon be possible to do this by a simple blood test, according to a new study whose blood test allows detection of 79% of early melanomas.

We examined a total of 1,627 different types of antibodies to identify a combination of 10 antibodies that are the best indicators of the presence of melanoma in affected patients compared to healthy volunteers,” continued study director, Pauline Zaenker. Scientists tested 105 patients with primary melanoma and 104 healthy people.

2 Researchers have just shown that rats would greatly harm the marine biodiversity of coral reefs.

Rats would endanger the reefs by killing seabirds nesting on islands. On the Chagos Archipelago, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, seabirds feed at sea. Their droppings, rich in nutrients from the sea, serve as natural fertilizers and fertilize the soil of the island as well as seabed near the coast.

These rodents arrived with the call of humans, housed in the hold of ships. The rats, which have a phenomenal adaptability, fed on what they found on the island, that is to say birds’ eggs, chicks or even adults.

3 12 new moons were discovered by chance for Jupiter, enlarging his family to 79.

Discovering new satellites around Jupiter was not really on the agenda of Scott S. Sheppard and his team. In spring 2017, they skimmed the skies towards the Virgo’s constellation in search of Planet 9. At that time, the largest planet in the Solar System was in the same field sieved with the Blanco telescope.

Some of the small luminous points were thus noticed by their movements which accompany that of Jupiter. It then took a year, through various other telescopes, to confirm the existence of small moons flushed out.
