“Damn it. I can’t read the full text of this paper”. Here’s why and how to bypass this issue.
“One of the major opportunities lies in the improvement of our ability to communicate information about current research efforts and the results of past efforts”, said John F. Kennedy in 1963.
Now more than ever, researchers still find it painful to access the full text of a paper anywhere and anytime.
Publishing a paper is important but it’s just half of the work. The second crucial part of a scientist’s work is to get their paper cited by others in the field and also to be aware of the latest advances from their field.
With what seems like so many challenges in your way, finding full papers can sometimes feel impossible. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a simple and effective way to get an instant access to relevant papers?
I’m outside and I’ve just found a paper, but it’s not open access. I have to wait to be at my desk to download it. And I want it know.
When it comes to research, does this previous statement sound familiar?
Most institutions allow full access to a paper without being at your office by using a URL proxy. Today, Peerus is pleased to announce that the solution is finally here thanks to our latest feature: a direct download button on our application.
Peerus allows you to add any URL that could help you to download a paper. For example, you can set up your institute affiliation (if you are a CNRS researcher at INSIS, you can add the URL http://insis.bibcnrs.fr/url=).
Then, a new button “Full Text” will appear on a paper’s details. You should check out the institution library to get the proxy URL and integrate it into Peerus.
Try it out now on Peerus and ease your way into simple paper downloading!
