The Currency of Confidence
Acceptance is ageless, and writing is a never-ending struggle. So, tell your story and make the most of each vote of confidence.
Writing is both a unique and lonely discipline.
There is no formula for success, and you will receive no certificate when you learn everything to know or when you stop learning all that can be learned.
There exists only the page, constantly blinking cursor, and ever – present low hum of self-doubt. It does not matter if it is the first project you have ever taken on or on your five-hundredth project, the experience of anxiety is always the same across different projects since each project starts from the same place.
The discomfort/uncertainty will remain no matter how experience you have, but you learn to greet this discomfort/uncertainty with some form of a resolve.
And this is what writing is never easy; the thought that one day, you will sit down, and the words will simply come out of you is delusional.
The reality is that every sentence is an act of decision-making, and every paragraph is a mini-victory in explicitly naming an idea amidst distraction and a plethora of uncertainties.
