Walk

It’s time for a break.

Put your phone down.

Get up.

Go outside.

And walk.

Look up, I beg you. And walk.

Don’t post it on Facebook. Don’t put it on Snapchat. Don’t Tweet it. No Instagram filter on the sunset. No #takingawalk. No selfie to show later.

It’s your turn. You spent all day with everybody and their mama.

This is all you.

Just get up. And walk alone.

Take that time to review what’s going on your life. Hit refresh on your mind and think. Your friends, your finances, your family. Work, school, and side projects. Your challenges and how you’re going to work around them. Your dreams, your goals, and ambitions.

Or..

Take that time to think about nothing. And get away from the prom that is life.

I take walks every day. My best bud takes walks every night. Jesus took walks on water. In doing so, you reconnect with your original true intentions that you may have lost track of in the midst of things. You get to step back and watch the tape.

  • For how long? 20–30 minutes. Could be shorter, could be longer. However long your sanity will allow.
  • Where? Not in a bad neighborhood.
  • When? Morning, afternoon, evening. Once a week, twice a week, seven times a week. Whenever you have the time.
  • I don’t have the time. You spent half an hour watching vines yesterday.

All jokes aside, take a walk sometime.

Your mental health will thank you.
