Admit It, Life Is Not Easy
I think we can all admit that life is not easy whether the hardship comes from inner turmoil, an illness, a series of bad decisions, uncomfortable situations, or all of the above.
Life is hard and we should acknowledge that.
But what if I told you that we’re all given the answer key to this life?
The catalog on how to maneuver through, and survive any hardships ahead.
This catalog is not secret. Many people have it lying around in their house, some even hold it every day but the issue is they don’t take time to look at it and read it. They don’t acknowledge the fact that it’s a collection of hints, clues, and ‘how-tos’ on how to navigate life.
Some have seen this catalog but never took the chance to read it or understand it. On the other hand, some people read it, understand it, and use it to guide them in their everyday lives. They hold on to it and what it entails, hence they live a balanced, peaceful life.
Do they still go through hardships?
Yes, but their reaction to it is always different than a person with no guidance. Their mindset, values, and end goal change, as well.
This catalog holds valuable information, from how to live life, to how to deal with different situations and It doesn’t leave anything behind. The catalog also heals the soul, mind, and heart.
Yet, very little benefit from it. Not because it requires money to access or a certain role in life to see, but because we’ve become too blind to it.
They say we understand the value of something when we lose it and people looking closely see it. They see how our society has deteriorated thanks to the decreasing number of people valuing this catalog.
The catalog, as you probably know, is not normal. That’s why it’s a blessing and guide to whoever uses it well and understands its purpose and role it should play in their lives.
This catalog is not made to cater to the capitalist leaders and companies, or even to a certain group in society. They’re not made with a group of people’s interests in mind. It treats everyone fairly. It’s made to benefit whoever uses it well.
The rules don’t ever change, because the author and creator of the catalog is all-knowing and unbiased. So you will never wake up one day to the catalog saying that alcohol is permissible after it was not allowed for years, why? Because the rules are set and there are no ulterior motives that will cause the rules to be altered.
Unlike a country’s policy which can allow alcohol all of a sudden after not allowing it, since it can improve the economy by expanding its lines of business.
Things like this and a lot more, are what make this catalog credible and invite you to pay more attention to it.
What saddens me, is the amount of people who own the catalog, the number of people who know its existence but neglect it.
People no longer value the catalog and neglecting it certainly won’t pass by without any consequences…
This catalog should be our compass. The set of rules that we strictly follow. If we follow it, it will be our savior, our guide through this mostly lonely, obstacle-filled life.
And we obviously will not only get its company in life and the one after, but we’ll be rewarded for following it, and I assure you if you follow it you’ll know that the reward is worth it.
The catalog I’m referring to, here, is the revelation (the wahy الوحي), I’m referring to the Quran and in some parts the sunnah of the prophet (PBUH).
Allah (SWT) created us and put us on this earth, he sent prophets to guide humans, then gave us the Quran and sunnah as guidance since prophets will no longer be sent till the day of judgment. So imagine having a whole book from our creator — the one who knows us and how we operate, think, and feel more than we do — right between our hands. We should make use of it, right?
The Quran was created for a reason. We will need it to learn about ourselves and how to operate this life to go to Jannah (paradise), we will need it to know the rules and what is right and wrong. We need it to be equipped emotionally and mentally for life.
That’s why the Quran should be our compass, it should be something we glorify and use as our reference in any action we do and any decision we make.
Sadly, many Muslims don’t consider the Quran and sunnah as the main reference for their lives. As a society, we stopped placing the Quran and the sunnah in the place they should be in it.
It’s not enough to have a copy of the Quran in your house. It’s not enough to be in memorization classes.
The Quran needs to be more present in our lives, yes through memorization, contemplation, and reading but also through our actions and way of living.
We should acknowledge and see the Quran as what we go back to for guidance and help; not music, not novels, not family nor friends.
We should have the rules of Islam as our first thought before doing anything, not our second or even third thought.
Don’t let your catalog sit there and collect dust, pick it up, and trust me making it your companion will change your life!
P.S. If you don’t know the catalog, I highly suggest you look into it and see what entails, it will certainly change your life!
Thank you for reading!
