What If I gave You The Test Questions?
Would You Take Advantage of Them?
We often say we want to have the test questions before the test so we can just prepare to solve these specific questions.
But if we had them beforehand would we use them to prepare?
It might seem like a weird question to ask. But a few days ago after a competition I attended, I realized that knowing something doesn’t mean acting on that knowledge or even using it.
So now I’m thinking, if we had the test questions, would we really make use of them, or will it be wasted knowledge? Knowledge that we’d whine over after the test, regretting that we didn’t take them more seriously or use more to our advantage.
The theoretical answer to this doesn’t really matter, since we have the opportunity to test it and see the answer for ourselves.
We have the 5 questions that we will be asked on the test day.
The questions we’ll be asked on the test day, judgment day, are:
1- How Did you Live your life on Earth?
2- How did you utilize your youth?
3- How you earned your wealth?
4- How do you spend your wealth?
5- What did you do with your knowledge?
Luckily for us, we got our wish to know the questions of the upcoming test beforehand, and the opportunity to find the answer to this hypothetical question.
But the real test begins now, how will we use this knowledge?
Will we use it to our advantage by preparing for them?
Or will we neglect them?
Will we be happy with our preparation? Or will we be ashamed of our grades and answers?
The choice is ours, and that's the real test, and it starts from now.
The Holy Prophet PBUH (صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said:
Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death.
We have everything we need, the questions and the instructions. So let’s make use of these resources.
Let’s not make these questions a witness against us, but rather our guide throughout life so we can ace the test and be happy with our final grade.
As for those who are given their record in their right hand, they will have an easy reckoning, and will return to their people joyfully. And as for those who are given their record ˹in their left hand˺ from behind their backs, they will cry for ˹instant˺ destruction, and will burn in the blazing Fire. (surah Al inshiqaq)
