Penn Engineering’s Team PLUTO poses with their robots outside the Colorado School of Mines’ Edgar Experimental Mine, where the SubT Integration Exercise took place in April. The team will go on to the first round of competition, the Tunnel Circuit, in August.
PLUTO’s legged robot, designed by GRASP Lab spin-off Ghost Robotics, prepares to enter the mine. Other teams employed robots with wheels, treads or propellers, to traverse the mine’s challenging terrain.
