I recognize and ‘feel’ how limited and small I am. But I embrace it. No matter how much I attempt to expand my mind through ectopic extensions of my brain — different apps and digital tools increasingly supplemented by machine learning and AI — at best I can only grasp analogies, and attempt to see the ‘big picture’ within the scope of what my mind can imagine and create. I am cognizant that I will never be able to experience knowledge greater in scope and understanding than the capacity of what my mind can accommodate.

But this is not a bad thing … as humans, we should embrace it. Cherish it even. It is the source of our drive and motivation to push ourselves and excel as a species. It provides the wonder that comes with learning or creating something, however small. And that’s the point. It may be small on the scale of the planet or infinitesimally small on the scale of the universe, but it is everything to the person experiencing it.
