Penta (PNT) Monthly Progress Report: August 1–31, 2018

【Technology Development】

Penta Chain
This month, the integration and debugging of the Penta blockchain modules continue, and the core modules of the consensus algorithm is been optimized:

1.Integrate and debug wallet components, API components, consensus components, and consensus governance contract components;

2.Optimize the consensus framework design to improve the compatibility with different consensus algorithm components, including interactive blocks and non-interactive blocks;

3.Solve the cache problem of coinbase after the process restarts during the consensus process;

4.Solve a synchronization issue which happened right after a consensus epoch;

5.Fix some problems in the RPC API during the internal test.

Governance structure
The development of the agreement governance contract is ongoing as planned, with an overall progress of 85%:

1.Continue to develop the basic version of the agreement upgrade management contract component;

2.Debugging the voting function of the governance contract.

P2P network module
Continue to develop P2P network modules this month:

1.Design and develop the P2P broadcast network channel used in the consensus process, the current progress is 80%;

2.The development of multi-network channel support for the same ledger in the P2P network module is basically completed, and the current progress is 50%.

Console Command Line component
This month, we continue to optimize the functionality of the console module:

1.Separate the original penta-sdk-js binary data module from the console into the Penta project and release the independent update according to the penta-sdk-js version;

2.Optimize the design of the console module in DLOS to facilitate the expansion of the console function.

PC wallet component and graphical interface
The development of the PC wallet GUI component is progressing as planned, and the overall progress is currently 68%:

1.Complete penta-sdk-js and integrate into the go language console;

2.Complete the UI development of the voting and proposal module in the wallet graphical interface;

3.Complete the wallet node.js component layer performance tuning;

4.Begin the preparation of the wallet integration penta-sdk-js and the main chain joint test.

Blockchain browser
This month, according to the plan the team complete the browser page function, the current overall progress is 90%:

1.Finalized the Java version development test work for penta_sdk;

2.Finalized the blockchain browser development testing, including browser home page, transaction, block joint debugging;

3.Start the main chain RPC, WEBSOCKET API interface joint debugging test work.

【Ecosystem Layout】

On August 7, Penta CEO David Ritter signed an MOU agreement with Runway, a well know co-working space and incubator in San Francisco. The parties will work to jointly develop their US communities.

August 16, The Second Blockchain Quality Project Meeting was held in Shanghai, sponsored by Hash Incubator and co-organized with Penta Labs. The project workshop aims to provide support to high quality early-phase projects, and to promote healthy growth in the blockchain industry.

On August 17, Penta Global Foundation announced its successful closing on a purchase of shares from the Australian Security Exchange (ASX) listed company, CCP Technologies (CT1). This is the first instance where a token cryptocurrency was used to purchase shares of a publicly listed company on a major stock exchange. Significantly, the deal was approved by regulators. Penta’s successful purchase of CCP shares using its PNT token is being studied by financial markets all over the world.

On August 22, Penta CEO David Ritter was invited to a meeting at the office of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, where he met with the mayor’s Economic Development team to discuss a pilot blockchain project.

On August 24, Penta CEO, David Ritter, and Penta Labs founder, Roy Liu, were invited to the University of Southern California for a follow up discussion on Penta joining the IBiCS consortium. IBiCS is a consortium of industry leaders and government organizations conducting important research on drafting standards related to blockchain in the global supply chain. Penta is honored to have the opportunity to join IBiCS.

【Recent Activities】

On August 2, Penta CEO David Ritter attended the 6th Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit, hosted by the USC Global Supply Chain Management Center. In attendance were representatives of the Trump administration, the Economic Development Office for the city of Los Angeles, industry leaders, educators, and supply chain experts.

On August 22, Mr. Kule Wilson hosted the Penta’s first African meetup in Kampala, Uganda. Wilson is a participant in the Penta Ambassador Program.

On August 25, Penta Labs hosted its “Developer Rooftop Party” in San Francisco. The party was co-organized by ABC Blockchain Community, one of the blockchain industry’s leading developer communities, with over 1,000 developers from Silicon Valley.

On August 26, Penta overseas marketing director Florie Zheng attended the China-Hong Kong Blockchain Development Seminar.

On August 28, Penta CEO David attended the Silicon Valley Mars Blockchain Summit and joined a panel for “The Most Anticipated Public Blockchain and Blockchain Technology in 2018.”

​​​​On August 31, the founder of Penta Labs Roy Liu was a featured speaker at The TiE Entrepreneurs Meetup, “Blockchain Beyond the Hype,” held in Silicon Valley.

【Community Building】

1 Community Activities

On August 3, Penta CEO David Ritter participated in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) interview with Korean blockchain media, BlockDaily. The interview was held on BlockDaily’s official telegram group. David also participated in a community AMA in Penta’s Kakao community on August 10 to promote Penta to its growing Korean community, and to answer questions about Penta’s development.

From 10am August 7 to 10am August 10, and from 10am August 29 to 10am August 31, Penta ran an airdrop campaign on the official Penta Twitter account (@penta GF). During the activity, more 3,000 users actively participated.

On August 16–17, Penta launched a special “QiXi Project” for Chinese community members and released nine posters related to QiXi, depicting humorous scenes.

On August 27–30, Penta launched the activity “Find the luckiest Penta star, and share a 200,000PNT participants prize.” More than 4,550 people were involved.

Penta CEO David Ritter has been invited to become JiReQu’s third weekly host for the media company’s official Wechat group. Dates for this are still being arranged.
