In our final event of 2020, Podium Star featured six mobility startups from Korea pitch to our panel of judges. In case you haven’t seen it, Podium Star isn’t like other pitch events. It’s fast-moving, exciting, and the audience votes, too! We held the event online again, and this time, winners received prizes from the World Innovations Forum, Shuttle, and Quotabook.

In 2019, Podium Star became Korea’s hottest startup pitch event. But it’s more than just a pitch competition. We scout the best startups in Korea. Then, we help each team perfect their pitch with support in messaging, professional deck design, and video filming. Finally, we put them on stage in front of relevant investors, accelerators, and supporters.

Many of our startups have gone on to achieve great things after pitching at Podium Star. Months after pitching, past startups have increased their revenue by 37% on average. We’ve also had one exit (Kakao) and multiple startups accepted into major accelerators such as Techstars.

Judges ask questions to the startups

Mobility

Our teams this round included:

Twinny: Your one-stop autonomous mobile robot & platform solution

Coconut Silo: Advanced freight logistics platform for shippers and carriers

Blue Signal: Traffic prediction platform to reduce congestion and accidents

Perseus: Solutions for tomorrow’s connected and autonomous vehicles

D.Hive: Autonomous delivery service for the last-mile

A.U.: Biosensor radar for detecting and protecting life

The Winner

The winner of our Mobility event was… Coconut Silo! They receive membership to the World Innovations Forum, which includes mentoring and access to close to 1,000 investors. They also received membership to Quotabook’s equity services.

And then, our audience vote went to Twinny! Their team had amazing support, and won a team meal, courtesy of Shuttle Delivery.

We look forward to seeing you back again in 2021 with our newest Podium Star! Be on the lookout and follow us on LinkedIn for updates.
