Why China can be the next IT destination

Yes that may sound old or it may even sound out of place but for many Indians used to living the American dream the 2nd best choices had been UK, Canada or Singapore. But recently I feel China is also a great land of opportunities. While applying in Dubai, Europe or elsewhere the sentiment is guarded or even for niche skills that you posses can be ignored but China can be that next destination that Indian IT professionals should look to.

There are two reasons for it, one it is our neighboring country with worlds 2nd larger economy and also one of the worlds most fastest growing economy. While China is trying to reinvent itself from being the world factory to industrial and services powerhouse it will also need at least in its initial phases talents from overseas who can fill the critical skill gap.

Yes we may not get the kind of salary that we expect from US but the chance to get exposed to one of the worlds biggest markets and also getting a much needed exposure to work in greater APAC market has its own advantages.

Yes there are many cultural differences that we may have to overcome and also language barriers can be a challenge but then there can be never be a better time to learn mandarin than now when the whole world wants a piece of Chinese dream and even China is planning to expand.
