Is Religion Necessary For Liberation?
Who is more faithful than us? We, the black peoples of the world have endured so much, and it has caused us to lean into ourselves and our spirits more than anyone else. Faith has been part of our liberation movements since we went to war in the pit of slavery. Faith has also destroyed us from the inside out, eating away at us like a worm within an apple. It begs the question, is religion necessary for our liberation?
