Innovation and Learning at AWS Summit in Madrid
It’s June 5th, a sunny day in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Entering IFEMA Madrid, a place for hosting fairs, summits and congresses, you see people in smart casual attire, all heading to the main hall of the AWS Summit.
AWS Summits are free events organized worldwide to bring together tech professionals working with Amazon Web Services. These annual gatherings are opportunities to network, learn from top experts, and discuss the latest trends in technology.
This year the Perfsys team was able to attend the summit and hear the top voices of the tech world. The internal goal we set for ourselves was to broaden the horizons of our AWS knowledge and discuss the rise of serverless services in the cloud.
Participants could pick from over 100 sessions covering innovation, generative AI, infrastructure, data and analytics, migration, customer stories, and more. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence were central to many discussions. The AWS Summit also gave the platform for AWS Partners to talk about their experience and solutions offered in the cloud.

We were impressed by the exhibitions showcasing AWS services, including Alexa for Hospitality, Media & Entertainment, Automotive & Manufacturing services, AI Stylist using Amazon Bedrock, and more. Notable innovative projects included Amazon Fresh, AWS Spot Invaders built with EKS and EC2 Spot, and AI-guided drones.
An additional opportunity for team learning and development was provided by the AWS Training & Certification area. This year, AWS introduced Card Clash, a competitive 3D virtual game designed to enhance knowledge about AWS services and identify common architectures.
By the end of the day, we left with new ideas, connections, and a drive to implement what we learned for our clients.
