Media is an umbrella term that includes the news, movies, social media applications, and the Internet. Media allows for us to stay connected with friends and family from all around the world, provides new opportunities for education, and most importantly, allows for us to have a voice and start a movement. It has given Period the opportunity to grow immensely and connect to people across the world to spread our message of breaking the stigma of periods. We use social media applications to inform the public on the movement we have created. It is important to remember that media has made it much more possible to make a change in society.

Although media has proven to be beneficial, it does have its faults. Due to the fact that so many people are involved in some sort of media, it has set many unprecedented stereotypes within society. It is on media where people got the idea and joined the bandwagon of shaming menstruators and making menstruators feel uncomfortable to talk about their cycle. Many movies and other forms of media made menstruators not feel welcome; it set the stigma.

It is our mission to use media to bring light to the situation and make a difference. We want people to hear our message and break the stigma. Social media is the way in which Period is able to connect with individuals and spread our message. We want the menstrual movement to be heard from all around the world. Media has allowed for us to do so.
