What is the ICC?

The International Chambers of Commerce (ICC) is a supra-national international trade organisation that promotes the free flow of goods and services between nations and parties. What’s so impressive is that they represent over 45 million businesses that employ around 1.3 billion people in over 130 countries, covering an estimated US$ 20 trillion in global trade.

At forefront of innovation, the ICC has chosen to partner with Perlin as the official technology partner to play a key role in the digital transformation of free trade across industries and borders.

Our CEO, Dorjee Sun, showcasing Perlin for an audience of leaders from across major industries, including banking, trade finance, commodities, shipping and many more.

What Will This Achieve?

There are so many legacy processes in the international trade space where blockchain technology can disrupt and transform. NASDAQ recently published a use-case for Perlin’s blockchain tech to facilitate free trade between Mercosur States and the EU (if ratified this will be the biggest Free Trade Agreement in the world). See the article HERE.

As part of the agreement, the ICC will help Perlin recruit members to its nascent blockchain alliance, the Centre of Future Trade, specifically by making introductions to the organisation’s massive member pool, which in addition to most national chambers of commerce includes direct membership from companies like Amazon, Coca Cola, Fedex, McDonalds and PayPal.

Particular areas where Perlin is working closely with the ICC on improving include trade finance, Incoterms, and supply chain traceability. More on these in the next Bite-Sized Entry!
