It’s easy to return to Sarah Lynn Himmelfarb in BoJack Horseman. One could argue that just as Diane serves as a catalyst to break BoJack out of a decades-long funk, Sarah Lynn paves the way for BoJack’s eventual downfall. She was someone who gave BoJack so many chances to fix his shit and live out his dreams, even if they didn’t go the way that he expected.
There’s also a lot that we don’t know about Sarah Lynn, that we have to infer from subtext and exposition. We only have one episode that features her point of view exclusively while she’s sober. And that POV lasts until the opening credits start.
