The Owl House Recap, Episode 2
When you read fantasy, for me at least I want to dive into another world and forget this one. You also want to believe that you’re destined for something greater, that someone else will tell you that you’re special. The problem is that in real life no wizard is going to come and change your routine drastically.
“Making choices” is the theme of this episode. Luz wants to find greatness like the heroine in her book Azura. To do so, she decides to explore the Boiling Isles further. Thing is, the destiny won’t arrive in this episode, or ever. When Luz finds greatness, they lie in the decisions she makes during one creepy adventure.
Witches Before Wizards
Luz is excited to find out she didn’t dream up the day before. She starts her morning by cuddling King, punching Hooty in the face for scaring her, and dressing up in witch’s clothes. Eda is still tired and needs some apple blood to wake up properly; she also informs Luz that the girl’s hat is a dirty traffic cone and the witch’s cloak is an old bathrobe. Luz despite her initial excitement becomes disappointed in learning that her first quest is to sell potions in the nearby town. Eda warns her that the potions business is dangerous and to watch out for rival competitors, sending King as her protector and guide. King tries his best, but Luz shrugs off his rational cynicism and he…
