The Owl House Recap, Episode 9
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in recaps. The local quarantine has messed with my writing mojo and scheduling. We’ll be covering the next two episodes and then resume in a timely fashion when the show returns.
It’s very easy for us to spread misinformation, while not planning for our future. We are in such times now, trying to figure out if we are screwed as a country when our postal service is on the verge of going bankrupt. Yet we need to somehow plan for the future. The characters in the Owl House are doing that, focusing on the short and long term.
“Fighting for what you want” is the theme of this episode. Gus wants to retain his presidential position, while his rival wants to usurp him. Eda decides to ensure that Luz gets proper instruction by talking with Principal Bump to lift the ban on the human. And Luz? She decides that she wants to enroll at Hexside, no matter the cost. These goals are noble but get everyone in trouble.
Something Ventured, Someone Framed
Gus is hosting a meeting of the Hexside Human Appreciation Society and new member Mattholomule questions his leadership. It’s hard to blame Mattholomule since Gus thinks that a paperclip, which he calls a “paperclorp,” sounds like the ocean and is useful for cleaning fingernails. Then he threatens Gus’s position as president…
