Returning to the Boiling Isles has never been more chaotic. And this is after we saw skin-eating fairies as well as centaurs with eyes on their chest. But now the apocalypse has come.

“Resisting change” is the theme of this episode. As Luz tries to act like she needs to be the selfless hero, we find out that some Boiling Isle residents have refused to undergo the same character development that she did over the past three months. King futilely tries to reign in the Collector, as Belos pursues a selfish dream. Hunter tries to hunt down Belos, while ignoring Willow’s burgeoning grief as she sees the Collector using her fathers as a living toy. Gus takes a step back to react to everyone and take Luz’s place as emotional support.

For the Future

We cut back to the Draining Spell in the season two finale. Turns out that the Collector acted just in time, and none of the witches died. They may wish they were dead, though, as he starts a new game. King says goodbye to Luz, and prepares to teach the “Owl House rules” to the Collector. He tries to keep the kid from raining havoc and fire on the survivors. Unfortunately, he can’t stop the Collector from shooting a blast at Hooty that turns him into…
