Looking inward is hard. We may act irrationally when upset, and trying to hide the problem only encourages these impulses.

“Confronting pain and insecurity” is the theme for this episode. Luz suppresses missing an important anniversary, as Amity tries to do something to prove she admires her dad and wants to connect with him, subconsciously. Eda decides to go to a reliable source of information about her ex Raine while recruiting Amity’s brother Edric.

Reaching Out

A phone notification wakes up Luz. She freaks out about an “Event Reminder With Mami” and presses ignore. In the morning, she presents a long to-do list to Eda, King, and Hooty. A new glyph combination provides a hovering spell, and she’s working on a new portal project while seeking to uncover Belos’s plans. When Eda asks what’s with all the energy, Luz says that she got a reminder about an Earth event that she can’t attend. She needs a distraction, and acting like a hero may be the clue. Eda promises to help, saying that it can’t hurt to try and stop the Day of Unity. Then Amity barges through the door, out of breath and excited.

Amity reveals that a brawling event is happening tonight called the Bonesborough Brawl, at the same time as Coven tryouts. She wants to win the belt like her dad did, but her father wants her to attend Emperor’s…
