Three Board Books by Jon Klassen: Your Farm, Your Forest, and Your Island
What you can find in a world that’s just yours.
This review is going to be a little bit different. Normally I separate the books by title and author. That way I can organize them using headers and links, and talk about their different approaches to a common theme.
In this case, the same author wrote all of the books, and they follow the same theme. So I went to a primary source to get the other half of this review: my baby nephew. He still isn’t talking in complete sentences yet, but he’s good at giving his opinions on stories. And he came for a visit, providing the perfect opportunity to see what he thought of Jon Klassen’s picture books.
The Your Places Series: Your Farm, Your Forest and Your Island by Jon Klassen
Each book has a straightforward setup. You are shown a different location that is yours. It comes with the sun, always needed, along with different elements and sometimes animals. Everything has eyes, including the trees and the buildings, and watches you until nighttime. And you can think of what to do there “tomorrow” when the book ends.
