Why Team Starkid is Returning to Hatchetfield
One more show-stopping number…
I was returning to Hatchetfield by watching clips of The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals after the November election. It seemed fitting that with chaos brought on by stupidity and hate that a show about singing aliens that tuned people into zombies would become a comfort. There’s an entire song about how cops do what they want because they have the authority and the egos en masse.
Team Starkid has announced they’re bringing back The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals for a remount. Based on the trailer released on April 21 and the voiceover, 2025, some fans hope that this is a different iteration rather than a repeat. Protagonist Paul seems to remember what happened in the first show, predicting coworkers’ questions and providing the answers without prompting. He becomes terrified when his crush and local barista Emma tells him “it’s” happening again. They both protest loudly about it. But it’s happening, and people can donate to the Kickstarter for rewards related to the remounting.
