What can good textile cleaning and laundry services do?

If we take a nice garment ‘to be cleaned’, it is generally taken to a shop that offers different cleaning methods, from washing with water to dry and wet cleaning. This ensures that our favourite items of clothing get the right individual care, depending on the type of stain or how sensitive the material is.

While the ironing of items such as shirts, suits and dresses is part of the standard service, trained professionals can cater to special requests. For instance, you can stipulate in advance whether you prefer to have your garments returned on hangers or folded. Maybe you have an all-weather jacket that has to be cleaned? A good textile cleaning service will also offer to impregnate it. The range of services often also includes the washing and subsequent mangling of bed linen and tablecloths as well as the professional care and cleaning of leather and carpets. This is usually referred to as a full service.

Which textiles should be taken to be cleaned?

Garments made from different materials (such as men’s and women’s suits, bridal gowns, evening dresses and coats) can often only be cleaned with water and in the domestic washing machine to a limited extent, because they may lose their shape or fade. You can tell whether it needs to be dry cleaned by referring to the garment’s care label.
