Use coated hangers
Shops sell specially coated hangers and special non-slip strips for sticking onto the hangers so that garments can no longer slip off. However, you can also really easily make your own non-slip hangers.
The trick with the elastic band
Securely wrap an elastic band around each end of the hanger, then garments will no longer slip off. This is also really practical when travelling. Simply pack a few elastic bands (they hardly take up any space) and you can wrap them around the hangers in the hotel in exactly the same way.
Which hangers should be used for certain clothes?
Diverse hangers are available. Shops stock various designs in different materials, such as metal, plastic and wood. It makes sense to use the right kind of hanger, depending on the material, type and weight of your garment. This will ensure that no unattractive bumps form and no threads pull on sensitive materials.
