No Matter How Good You Look On Paper — Culture Always Wins
When we think about company culture, we consider common things like… Do they have strong leadership in place? Do they train and develop their teams? Are they remote only or became remote recently? Etc.
But what about this one…
Do they give their employees the resources and the space to develop their own personal brand?
People work with people, not companies. You are a human, not a cog.
It’s typically the sales and marketing people who are on the front lines.
As you research a company as a potential employer or client, take a look at some of their sellers’ and marketers’ LinkedIn activity, it can tell you A LOT about the company culture. Are the PEOPLE at the company growing, or is it just all company company company?
Casey Graham & Derrick Thomas at Gravy do this really well.
Sarah Brazier at Gong w/ Amit Bendov leading the charge
Sam Nelson Max Altschuler Scott Barker Manny Medina and the whole team at Outreach
Hilary Headlee at Zoom Video Communications
These are the leaders who will build the future of people enablement.
No matter how great you might look to each other on paper, culture ALWAYS wins.
