The only way to make sense of the absurdity of life is to plunge yourself deeply into it on your own terms. Become an active participant in your life. Nothing less. Most people sit and wait to be invited. They ask for permission to become their best selves.

Alan Watts observed, “Waking up to who you are requires letting go of who you imagine yourself to be.”

Watts gained popularity for his ability to articulate complex Eastern philosophical concepts in a way that resonated with Western audiences during the mid-20th century.

He wrote extensively on Zen Buddhism and Taoism, often exploring the connections between Eastern and Western thought.

Letting go simply means releasing the grip of rigid self-definitions and embracing the fluidity of your true nature.

It also means unburdening yourself from the weight of imagined identities, societal expectations, limiting beliefs, and self-imposed identities.
