What I’ve learned from 6 months of meditation and 3 months in a foreign country.

Life is wild. Enjoy the ride.

If I were to ask you, “What do you want out of life?” and you respond by saying, “I want a loving family, high paying job and to be happy” it’s such a universal thought that it almost becomes meaningless. A more intriguing question would ask, “What pain are you willing to hold onto?” Because this seems to be a more accurate depiction of our success. If you can align your battles with your passion and joy, you’ve won.

Spiritual Awakening

Crazy how quieting your mind for 10 minutes a day and a blank slate in the form of a foreign country coincide to inspire self-realization. My inspiration is driven by fascination to the art of living life. Acquired peace of mind allows you to generate the mindfulness to disconnect yourself from the system that is society and the world we live in, and observe it all play out. Allowing yourself to control your thoughts and actions in order to realize your own potential according to your intrinsic desires is something that in many instances deviates from the expectations of society. Step back, do a 180, and think humanitarianly rather than economically. If you're doing something that you need to justify to yourself with inner dialogue, you’re probably doing the wrong thing and are only trying to talk yourself into allowing it. Everyone knows this, but it is often overlooked.

— Life finds it’s purpose and fulfilment in the expansion of happiness.

Become aware of the type of energy you are drawing into yourself and how you manifest it, as well as the type of energy you transmit back for others to take in. Realize your potential as a human being, and forget the imaginary restraints that were placed on you by the academic system and the limitations that you were told by science and religious teachings and look at the whole spectrum, because each of these institutions serves only to compartmentalize your knowledge. While these aspects of life in any form provide an internal purpose with comfort in belief, each exists for the sole purpose of limiting the scope of your understanding and locking you into a contained and restricted paradigm. Until you begin to look beyond these limitations and make connections between religion and science, you may never make the connections to yourself, to reality, and to the creator that humanity has named God.

True Self

Everyone in this world is unique and has something compelling to offer. Most people overlook the importance of connecting with and then unleashing their true potential. Answering the simple question of why we get out of bed in the morning holds the key to becoming fully authentic and fulfilled throughout life. To unlock your true self, find out what gives you happiness and inspires you to be a better version of yourself day in and day out, and spend the rest of your life doing that.

— Build your own dreams, or someone will hire you to build theirs.

With mindfulness comes great potential, only limited to your imagination. Our biggest obstacle, fear, becomes an object that you can drop in any situation. Practicing this mentality turns life into a blank canvas, and you’ve got plenty of paint. Combined with authenticity that is true to yourself, everything you want becomes attainable.

Perspective

How do you know what you want to do if you don’t know what’s out there?Travel opens your mind to all walks of life, while gaining perspective by generating awareness of the bigger picture. The bigger picture reveals that our most powerful tool is our free will. It provides freedom of choice that ultimately affects our well-being and happiness. Follow your visions with a fire fueled with passion to create the impact that only you can make. If you’re lacking motivation, it’s because your goals aren’t synced to your true aspirations. Perspective lends inspiration to exercise your free will. You learn that it’s not what you see that matters, but how you see it. Get excited to inevitably fail, learn from mistakes, and ultimately grow. Time is your most valuable asset, so direct it toward doing the things and being with the people that you love. This way, reality can exceed expectations.
