This Quick Carl Jung Quote Will Force You to Never Look At Life the Same Again
The joy of shadow work.
Two words. Shadow work. The path back to myself. To the life I desperately want. Psychiatrist and psychotherapist Carl Jung found out it’s key to our best lives. Jung spent his whole career understanding the human psyche and personality. I’m paying a lot of attention to his unsettling but wise words. He said something that’s helping me get back within to find the answers I want. He notes, “That which you most need will be found where you least want to look.” Not many people like to look directly at the parts of themselves they normally ignore. But avoidance has never been the answer. We all have things we would rather avoid.
Emotions we don’t want to feel. Truths we don’t want to face.
“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely,” says Jung.
We like to be in control. On top of everything. But under the mask? Most people are anxious. Terrified on a lot of things. And always second-guessing themselves. The things I need the most (healing, growth and practical change) are hiding in the places I avoid.
