Small actions, big impact.
Here’s what we have learned over the years at Yomento: Small leadership actions have huge impact on a team’s engagement and performance.
Also, not taking small actions can have a big negative impact on team members’ engagement and performance.
Here’s an example.
Meet John. He’s a customer service employee at a large bank. He’s got weekly KPIs related to number of calls and customer satisfaction. One week John over-delivered on his KPIs and he was very happy. Unfortunately, his leader did not recognize him for that and he told us “what’s the point of achieving my goals if no one recognizes it?”.
Do you think John achieved his KPIs the next week? No.
John said to us: “[..] just a simple text would make me super happy and work even harder next week.” But he didn’t get that message.
Small actions can dramatically expand team members’ capacity of excellence — not enormous expenditures or huge heroic gestures.
Like the butterfly in Brazil whose flapping wings create a typhoon in Texas, you can create profound positive change in your team and organization through simple actions and attitude shifts.
How can you do small actions in your daily leadership?
