What does a mirror say to you?

I used to have no pressure on education from my parents before I started my graduation. In that phase, we think to do new things further and it is a phase when a boy transforms himself to a man (that’s what graduation does right!). From a pool of people who want to look good, dress good and be appealing to others at that age, I was partly influenced by that and used to look into every mirror now and then, when I walked on the road I used to see myself in every car window I pass by. Maybe this led to the birth of a type of narcissist in me. I generally don’t obsess with myself but would like to stare at me when I find a reflective surface(solid/ liquid).

What I found interesting in the Mirror?

Due to my disinterest in Engineering, I completed that course just to fulfill my parents' wish and to give justice to the huge financials behind it. In that process, my life has seen many downs. Friends near me had moved on, no particular person will be there to share my lows.

So, who came to my rescue? - ‘the mirror’.

When I was feeling good, I see a happy me in the mirror. When I was in lows and used to see myself, I used to feel that the mirror is saying ‘ dude, something is wrong you need to do things in a different way’. A mirror is a true reflection of yourself. It is your best friend, motivator and a critic too!

How can a mirror help?

In soft skills training industry, many trainers who train people for communication skills and body language, emphasizes the use of mirrors in improving their communication, altering their body language, use of body and hand gestures in the right way.

They also suggest people who speak in a low voice, overuse or underuse hand gestures while communicating and who want to gain confidence while speaking to use ‘mirror practice’ technique to improve to their maximum potential while communicating.

For any person who should enter the job market, having good communication skills and facial gestures are necessary to be presentable. Different people will have varying opinions when they look in the mirrors and practice for the interviews.

Leveraging the power of the mirror to create a powerful tool.

Is there any tool that helps people who look out for jobs or a student who prepares for a presentation to judge their facial gestures, confidence in speaking, etc before they step in?

We at team PerspectAI developed a mobile tool MirrorAI which is a robust mobile application that can be used anywhere at any time. All you need to do is record a video with the front camera, upload it and get feedback in a few minutes. The application uses the front camera to capture the voice and facial gestures of the user and give a score using the trained AI.

The mobile application is open in the Google Play Store with limited features. Go through it and we are open for feedback!

You can try out the mobile app by clicking on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loopreality.mirrorai&hl=en
