After waking up to beautiful bright rays of sunshine massaging my face, I decided to name a new logical fallacy today. It’s called the ad harminem logical fallacy.

definition: A logical fallacy suggesting that the amount of harm or sacrifice endured is somehow relevant to the Truth of the claim.

usage: “Just because Dave was willing to have several carrots shoved up his butt for his toothfairy belief doesn’t mean that the toothfairy is actually Real. This is an example of the ad harminem logical fallacy.

As always, the only thing that matters in the determination of Truth is scientific evidence and logical reasoning. Logical fallacies are not evidence.

You are welcome Merriam-Webster.
