What meditation is really about is healing.

Yes, meditation is simple, and healthy, and beneficial in many ways. Yet millions have tried meditating and have given up.

When we hear high-profile people meditate, we may think, Why not try something this good for me and so popular?

Meditation can be used to relax, as a break time from our usual activities, and to introspect a bit on what we are doing, akin to laying in bed an extra 5 minutes in the morning after waking up to center ourselves.

Meditation is healing, and for healing it is more arduous and therefore not as popular as medications. Meditation is the true healing of mind, body, and spirit, medications mask symptoms.

Millions have tried to heal themselves with meditation and have given up, not because it is arduous, but because they did not have a master, a teacher to inspire and guide them as they travel the frightening, dark, and lonely road into themselves.

Healing ourselves is about being open to discovering who we are, who we truly are, contrary to who we have been programmed and conditioned to be by a rather loveless, hurful, insane world.

Meditation is for awakening, for how to be present. The present moment is a spiritual experience of either immense silence or love. Both are beyond all your craziness. The present moment teaches us perspective, balance, and true health.
