When was the last time you ate some aromatic ravioli with and extravagant truffle olive oil and the pasta was as soft as clouds vanishing in the turquoise sky? When was the last time you entered a restaurant and everyone including the owner welcomed you and took you to your table? Well, Symposium is all of the above with a 100% flawless service and attention. As you get in, everyone welcomes you and in less than a fraction of a second, the waiters take you to your seat with a charismatic smile. Symposium is a genuine Italian restaurant located in the beautiful streets of San Isidro, Calle Santa Luisa 122. They serve high quality food cooked with extravagant and unparalleled ingredients that are just fabulous. In addition, Symposium is a very cozy and tranquil place where you can spend a gorgeous time with your family in any special event.

Symposium offers unrivaled service and probably one of the best in Lima. You may encounter waiters in other restaurants that write your order in a small notebook; in Symposium things don’t work that way. The waiters are highly trained, they have studied memory techniques, which they apply in restaurant order taking therefore, they don’t require any type of additional help. Not only are the waiters exceptional but they always have a bright face on them, they work with great passion which, molds the restaurant’s environment into a friendly and comfortable one. Now, when has the owner of a restaurant ever taken your order, when has he ever recommended certain foods or wines to accompany your dinner? Well, in Symposium, Marco is there to resolve any doubt or solve any minor nuisance. Marco is the young, alluring and funny chef and owner of Symposium. He tends to make sure you are having a unforgettable experience in the restaurant, he recommends special an exquisite plates with such details about them that it’s astonishing. I have gone around several times to Symposium and Marco has always been there. So if you’ve ever had doubts about the service of a restaurant, you have an assured and immaculate service at Symposium.

This man on the picture is Marco, Symposium’s owner.

Symposium has been the nonpareil restaurant of Italian food for the past two years in Peru. The plates and recipes of these gorgeous plates have been created and manifested by Marco Antino, the owner. He has studied gastronomy outside of Peru and is an expert on typical Italian ingredients. In Symposium, everything apportioned in your plate has been made from scratch, including the pasta. At first, they present you a plate with pliable bread with two kinds of olive oils, the first one incorporates an integral hot pepper inside the bottle, which awards the oil a slightly spicy touch, and the other encloses oregano leaves. After, you can order a smooth appetizer with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese imported right from the south of Italy. Then there is nothing preferred than order some savory ravioli with a flamboyant white truffle olive oil poured over it, as already mentioned the ravioli are soft and out of this world. When you place one ravioli into your mouth, time stops, it’s a whole new experience. Sometimes the maître d’ approaches your table and grates a small portion of white truffle onto your dish which is more than enough. While he is scuffing the truffle there is nothing more than just contemplate the beauty of gastronomy. As a desert nothing compares to the homemade “gelato”. There is nothing more creamier and smoother than Symposium’s “panna” ice cream. You have to try it! It makes you feel as if you were in heaven. If you want to leave a restaurant thrilled by the food, Symposium should be your next stop.

Nothing surpasses having dinner at home with your family. As I mentioned before, the waiters are all happy and always have a great, positive attitude. This makes Symposium pleasant for all customers. At dinner, the illumination is superb. The lights are graduated and there are some candles adjacent to the tables. The chairs are comfortable and satisfying including the delicate texture of the tablecloth. Also, the acoustics of the restaurant is great; you can’t hear anyone else around you more than just the people at your table, as it would be at home. The tables are hefty therefore; you have a lot of space to eat which makes it very complacent. Symposium is by far, one of the coziest restaurants in Lima, and it is in fact one of the most appropriate restaurants I’ve eaten at.

Eating at Symposium is a gratification. There is nothing more delightful than to eat a soft and warm pasta on a typical cold night in Lima. Ask yourself, when was the last time you had dinner with your family, parents or grandparents? Do you remember the times where you talked and laughed with your family, in which a passing hour felt like a minute? Remember how marvelous it felt when you entered a restaurant at 7:00pm and left at 12:30am. Symposium is definitely a place you should go to eat, either for lunch or dinner. They use high quality ingredients and the recipes have been made and elaborated by a professional chef. The attention is unique and very elegant which is something that you can’t find nowadays. It reminds you of home due to its great commodity. Symposium, “Il meglio del meglio”, a place you should unequivocally visit.
