Orca Security, full stack cloud visibility in minutes

Orca Security has raised $6.5M in total. We talk with Avi Shua, its CEO.

PetaCrunch: How would you describe Orca Security in a single tweet?

Avi Shua: Full stack cloud visibility in minutes — see all of your IAAS/PAAS risks after one time, zero risk read only infrastructure level integration.

PC: How did it all start and why?

AS: We started Orca Security as we saw that organizations lack security visibility in 50% or more of their cloud infrastructure footprint. Current solutions based on network scanner and security agents are lacking — and can’t scale in today’s cloud-first world. We took the mission of providing organizations with seamless full stack visibility into their complete cloud infrastructure footprint, all without complex and costly per-asset integration.

PC: What have you achieved so far?

AS: We’re doing amazingly well on all fronts. On the client side — so far 100% of the customers who started a POC chose to continue and deploy it on a larger scale — which is an amazingly good sign. We’re growing the team rapidly, with 16 people on board. The product is maturing at an amazing rate — and able to competitively replace legacy solutions that have been out there for decades.

PC: How will you use your recent funding round?

AS: The funding round is used to dramatically grow the R&D and have an initial customer success team to work with the first customers.

PC: What do you plan to achieve in the next 2–3 years?

AS: Our goal is to be the world’s best cloud security visibility platform — in terms of data broadness while maintaining the ease of deployment. We’re going to be go-to platform for IAAS/PAAS security visibility. Unlike other vendors, which think in silos and require customers to use too many solutions — we’re going to use the patent pending SideScanning technology to provide broad and deep visibility for anything IAAS/ PAAS related.
