How would you describe ScalaHosting in a single tweet?
ScalaHosting is a niche managed cloud VPS provider. Our mission is to help website owners all over the world to afford their own cloud environment with fully managed VPS, dedicated recourses, maximum security, and 24/7 live technical support.
How did it all start and why?
ScalaHosting was established in 2008 as a US based hosting provider. By that time, we already knew that the most popular shared hosting business model delivers an inherently insecure environment, and the low price is the only reason why people are still buying it. The cloud VPS technologies, on the other hand, had all the perks that the shared had not but were still very expensive. That’s why we decided to invest everything into our in-house software development team and focusing on making managed cloud VPS affordable.
What have you achieved so far?
In 2019, with a tight team of 30 geeks, we finally achieved our goal, and we introduced an all-in-one managed cloud solution in the price range of the shared hosting. Now, for a little below $12 per month, a website owner could have his own dedicated cloud VPS environment, dedicated resources, admin management control panel called SPanel, daily backups, cybersecurity with SShield, Nginx/LiteSpeed Integration, 24/7 live technical support, and much more. It’s a price no other competitor can offer, and as of today, we are alone in this segment. To guarantee the maximum security for our clients using our managed VPS solutions, we run monthly Rack911labs audits and pin-test. That’s how our small digital revolution to make the internet a safer place has started! And that’s how our customer’s base has grown quickly to over 50k clients with over 700k websites.
What do you plan to achieve in the next 2–3 years?
The plan for 2020 is to integrate our all-in-one cloud management platform SPanel with AWS and DigitalOcean. This will enable website owners all over the world to replace the costly license based cPanel with SPanel, which comes for free to all ScalaHosting customers. Combined with the fully managed service powered by our 24/7 live support, this will introduce a unique value proposition, which we believe will reshape the global web hosting industry for good.
