Birds are one of the most diversified and most thriving groups of animals on earth. Birds are distinguished by their beaks, thin legs, and light bodies. They make nests and lay eggs. These are the general characteristic of a bird. A bird can vary in size, for example, they can be as small as a hummingbird and can be as large as an ostrich. Not all birds can fly, for example, an ostrich cannot fly because generally, birds have light bodies, hollow bones, and well-developed wings. But an ostrich has a very heavy body, and its wings are not developed to support the weight of its body. Birds are kept as pets too, for example, people have canaries at their place so they could listen to its soft and melodious whistle. While some people have parrots, the peculiar characteristic about a parrot is that they can imitate sounds and many parrots such as gray parrots have the tendency to imitate sound almost entirely. Birds can be omnivores, carnivores, and herbivores too. I find birds as the most amazing creatures on this planet, and if you disagree with this, then you probably might not have seen the birds of paradise. As the name suggests these are the most beautiful birds found on this planet. Their striking color, beautiful feathers, and shiny texture will make you dazzled by its appearance. The Bird Kingdom is very diversified, so I will only discuss a few here.

Birds of paradise:

The majority of the types are found in eastern Australia, Papua New Guineas, and eastern Indonesia. The members of this species are especially known for their plumage, in particular highly elaborate and elongated feathers extending from wings, beak, and head. Many of the species are limited to rainforest only. During breeding seasons bird watchers come and look at the delicate dance performed by a male bird to attract its mate.

Endangered species:

Birds go endangered because of unnecessary killing and destruction of their natural habitat. Regulatory bodies have been established to save such birds which are on the verge of extinction. One such bird is the California Condor. It is a type of vulture that scavenges on dead meat but might also hunt. It has a bald head and has an enormous size. Forest owlet is another such bird. It is a type of owl that has a small size. It has powerful and sharp talons to rip off prey. It also has excellent eyesight, and the best thing is it hunts at night quickly and spends the day sleeping.
