I used to have an elderly client that took great pleasure in feeding assorted Chipmunks that lived in her area.

The neighbours were not that keen because the little critters would make holes under things, hole up in any building where there was a crack under a door, and just generally get up to no good.

None of these objections mattered in the least to Mrs. Lubke (R.I.P.) She insisted on a special bird bath that was specifically for the Chipmunks and she also wanted peanuts left out to feed them.

Part of my garden maintenance job was to take care of feeding and watering the Chipmunks.

This Chipmunk thought I had peanuts and got nose to nose with me while I was trying to get a photo.
This little guy got really bold and climbed up on to the side of her walker, and grabbed a peanut from her hand.
