All dog owners know that a tired dog is a good dog. For me, walks keep my puppies out of serious mischief. And so, rainy days without walks become the perfect storm for a disastrous doggie day.

My dog hates the rain. On rainy days, I become the doggie butler, holding the canopy of an umbrella over our heads — checking off doggie back yard duties. After barely tolerating his paws being dried, he sprints for his favorite upholstered chair — holding princely court over our household, wet dog wafting in the air…

Our daily doggie walk? — out of the question!

It’s okay, I don’t mind occasionally skipping the walk — until the shenanigans begin.

First, there is a subtle restlessness that enters the scene. Then, wait for it, the shook up soda pop bottle becomes uncapped with extreme stored energy screaming to the surface!

What we have here is canine craziness, pure and simple.
