3 steps to winning people

Nowadays, many project and product managers lead the team to create great products, changing the world into a better place. Therefore, we need to collaborate and communicate with team members more often. I want to share three steps to reach a consensus suitable for each side.

Be friends firstly

1. TALK actively

You should be an “active” communicator and approach your team members with an “open-minded”. I know it seems trivial. I’ll divide these two keywords into two parts:

1–1. open mind

If you desire to get truth from someone’s mind, you ought to forget what you know and think. Have an open-minded to start a talk will make people feel honest, at that moment people will crave to say more thoughts in their mind deeply that is helpful for projects.

1–2. active attitude

Be a PM, you need to connect with people who involve in projects. Keeping a good relationship will help you understand the colleague’s personality. It’s beneficial to realize what they want to achieve in their career when you are friends.

2. LISTEN patiently

Prominent leaders always announce in speeches that you need to find the right person to aid your plans.

The most important thing for startup is to find the suitable partner to collaborate with.

In 1–2. part, you’ll know which person is proper for your components.

2–2. what I can help

Sometimes people don’t want to do jobs due to several reasons: resources, other persons, unclear plans, etc. You ought to ask more “why questions” to explore what’s their concern.

Through a series of processes, which I list as above, we can observe the intersection of “what they want” and “tasks which the product you want to build” and get the next action.

The relationship between you and team members is partners, not just colleagues.

Currently, talented people have a ton of opportunities for various positions, so it’s exactly different that the situation compared to ten years ago. Give more respect to specialists and have the passion for your product is the most correct style of work.
