Developer that didn’t use this phrase, is that one a Developer !!!

Over the past years, there has been a lot of things going on in the Developer community in Africa. The community is now on a global scale, with world class developers coming out from the heart of Africa.

Technology, has taken a firm stand on the African Soil, and many are taking the lead from the rest of the world. It’s a true fact that the Tech community in Nigeria has increased over the years, so many has ventured into one niche or another in Technology, with conferences and meetups holding almost everyday. And this community is not gender specific (no longer a male dominated thing).

PHDevConnect, was created with the foremost goal of identifying and connecting Software Developers, Tech enthusiasts and generalists in Port Harcourt (a city in Rivers, Nigeria) by putting up their stories, projects at the fore front for the world to see.

PHDevConnect is a free, open community of Port Harcourt based Developers, UI / UX Designers, Project managers, Architects etc who can create their own digital team or join other teams for paid/open sourced projects. Its somewhat true that in Port Harcourt, there are bad ass Techies, but majority are on a low-key, so we set out to connect to all and get them under one domain (though there are other communities existing).

PDC main focus is on newbie techies, and those looking out to join a community (especially in Software Development, you become better when you peer program).

By sharing our stories (and code of course), we hope to inspire other developers/techies in and out of Port Harcourt (and the world at large). We plan on taking this community further in future, we hope to start outsourcing members of PDC to work on Paid projects so as to expose them to team collaborations.

Need to join us? yeah for the now, we have a Whatsapp user group, and a Slack team.
