GM Phamily! March was a busy but fulfilling month: Phala Network went to ETHDenver, released our 2023 roadmap, and won the 74th slot in the Kusama Network parachain auction! Let’s dive in.

Phat Contract closed beta will end soon!

If you are still in the development phase, remember to get those implementations submitted this week! Details

🎙️Top News

  • The team attended ETHDenver 2023 for the first time. We formed partnerships, spoke at the conference, and most importantly — promoted the upcoming launch of Phat Contract 1.0. We’ve also hosted a Twitter space along with 7 other projects to discuss their learnings and insights from the conference.
  • Phala has joined the ink!ubator Bounty with Astar Network, Parity, 727 Ventures, and others to help bootstrap the development of dApps, tools, & Smart Contract templates for the Polkadot-native Wasm environment.

💻Product and Technical Updates

This month has been an interesting one for our product and technical teams.

Following the major release of Stakepool V2 and Vault at the end of 2022, the Compute team has steadily rolled out a series of refinements and updates. One particular favorite is the Phala Dictionary. Now throughout the app you will see a small “i” icon. Click on this to enter the dictionary and learn more! The Compute team’s main focus has now turned to enabling the mainnet release of Phat Contract.

The Phat Contract team has been keeping a keen eye on the Closed Beta which has been running for several months now and is due to close on April 21st. Applications are still open, and it’s not too late to join and see the power of off-chain computation!

So what comes after the 21st April, I hear you ask? Well. That’s right. It’s time for the Mainnet release. Given the magnitude of this, the Phat Contract Team has been brewing a very special feature for the last few months. Building it out, “brick by brick”, you might even say. We want everyone to be able to access and use the power of off-chain computation, so we are thrilled to announce Phat Contract will launch with a no-code experience. Those developers who wish to can still dive into Native Phat Contract and write Rust based !Ink contracts, but for everyone else who simply wants to leverage the power of Phat Contract the team has got you covered. You’ll be able to configure and one-click deploy solutions to common industry problems. Web3 builders rejoice. The entire feature is centered around reusable components. This allows Phat Contracts to be glued together and easily reused. We’re calling this new flagship feature “Bricks”, and we can’t wait for you to see more.

📈Computing Providers Report

See the statistics below for our end-of-the-month computing power supply update.

🌍Ecosystem

  • Builders Program

Phala’s Builder Program has received high traction since its launch last month. The core team is reviewing applications on a weekly basis and is guiding applicants through the process of defining milestones to contribute to the development of Phat Contract.

The builders program is continuously supporting builders in the Phala ecosystem that are eager to use Phat Contract and are able to build reusable Phat Bricks.

  • PhalaWorld

PhalaWorld Marketplace has entered the final stage of development and testing this month. The team is also working very hard on the gamification strategy, finalizing the business plan, technical assessment, and experiment.

🍀Community

We’ve seen a lot of great contributions and content-making in our community. Special thanks to the effort of our ambassadors!

  • @gk18_dog and @infaceAi are now officially promoted to senior Phala Network ambassadors.
  • Our advocates @ToriRibolla and @gabekoin who both passed their trials and are now official candidates in our ambassador program.
  • We are launching our compute department for our ambassador program and looking to recruit more compute providers. Details
