What better way to learn about Eberron than to read novels set in it?

Wizards of the Coast starting publishing novels set in Eberron in 2005. There are now dozens of books, as you can see in this list on Goodreads. Without yet reading through this canon, it looks like these are a some good choices to start:

  1. The Tales of the Last War (2006) by Mark Sehestedt. This is a short story collection taking place during the 100 year course of the Last War.
  2. The Heirs of Ash trilogy by Rich Wulf: Voyage of the Mourning Dawn (2006), Flight of the Dying Sun (2007), and Rise of the Seventh Moon (2007). This series follows the crew of an airship on a journey across Eberron in pursuit of a mysterious superweapon.
  3. Bound By Iron (2007) by Edward Bolme. This is a noir style novel following an Inquisitive — Eberron’s version of a private investigator — unraveling a mystery in the grim nation of Karrnath.

We will update this list as we read these and other novels set in Eberron, looking for the best.
