Getting started with our campaign on D&D Beyond

This is our campaign homepage on D&D Beyond. If you are not already a member, you will need to click the secret invite link in the email you received about the Phantasmagorical Adventures.

This campaign has the Content Sharing features of D&D Beyond, which enables the campaign’s Dungeon Master to share all the digital content he has purchased (which is actually every single sourcebook published so far) with his players. When you create a character in this campaign, you have every single option available to you, whether or not you have purchased a copy yourself.

You can also read the sourcebooks online (and probably via the mobile app; please give this a try and let me know). To completely understand the game, you will want to eventually absorb the material in these books:

• Eberron: Rising from the Last War

But that will take a while, and you don’t need to read it all before we start to play. To start, simply do the following:

1. Read about the basic mechanics of Dungeons and Dragons here
2. Read through the character creation steps here, from beginning to end without clicking on the Character Builder.
3. Visit the Character Builder, check the Show Help Text box, and choose the Standard method. In the Home section, where prompted for Sources, choose Eberron Content and Homebrew Content. Set Advancement Type to XP, leaving all the other default settings on the Home page as is. One the Race page, filter source to Eberron: Rising from the Last War, then poke around and choose between those (many) options. Then just follow along to add your class, abilities, personality quirks and background. On the Equipment section, choose EQUIPMENT and follow the prompts. At the end, choose View Character Sheet.
4. With your character built, learn the essentials of playing the game in this guide. There’s a lot material there and you don’t have to memorize it. You’ll be able to play and have fun with us even if you just skim.
5. With those steps completed, you will be ready to join our game. To take your roleplaying up a notch, read Leveling Up Your Role-Playing.
