Our Zapier integration is still in Early Release. Try it here.

Automation when done right can free up huge chunks of your or your team’s time and generate very valuable information and actions.

To do good automation you need 2 things: the tools and the knowledge. It’s easy to buy the new cool SaaS, but it’s not always that easy to get a good ROI on each one of them.

The purpose of this article is to give you small 2-steps workflows that you can set up today.

Click here to go to Phantombuster’s Zapier Page.

What’s Zapier?

Zapier connects web apps by easily moving data from one to the other. Each time an event occurs in app A, it triggers a specific action in app B.

Classic example: Each time one of your Typeform is filled out, send the data to a Google Spreadsheet.

But you can go further by chaining those actions and build super complex workflows made of paths, conditions, filters, and much more.

And Phantombuster?

Phantombuster executes actions and gathers data on your behalf on numerous websites. Since most of what it does is complementary to Zapier, its integration opens up a world of possibilities for creative growth-hackers, marketers, salespeople and recruiters.

Here are 10 ideas to get you started on your automation journey:

Enrich your CRM with highly targeted leads

Building a list of prospects is always a time-consuming task for sales teams. Phantombuster is extremely good at extracting the right persons from the right companies on LinkedIn. This workflow will, for each person found, create a new Lead in your favorite CRM. If you want email addresses for each new lead, plug in an email enrichment service such as DropContact.

And if you want to go further, automatically send a drip-email campaign with Lemlist, SendinBlue or any other drip-email service available on Zapier.

Build a Curated Newsletter Super Fast

Phantombuster, LinkedIn Articles Search Export + Trello, Create New Card.

Making a B2B newsletter full of quality content can take hours if you’re not organized. This workflow will extract every LinkedIn article related to a topic of your choice and save it to a Trello board. Try using hashtags from the long-tail such as #marketingautomation or #marketingstrategies rather than #marketing in order to have only targeted results.

The day you need to send the newsletter, just read the articles, see which are best and shoot!

Reach out by email your new LinkedIn connections

Phantombuster, LinkedIn Profile Scraper + Gmail, Send Email.

Sending a DM to your new LinkedIn contact is super effective. But how about you reach out to them on their public email address on LinkedIn? It’s powerful since you can write a longer text and eventually add an attachment.

Follow your Biggest Advocates

Do you know who your biggest advocates are? This automation will make you follow (or like) any Tweet mentioning you. Super useful for young brands or tools having lots of positive mentions. If you’re a bigger company and want to make sure you’re only following or liking positive content, you can narrow this action with an advanced query: @handle AND “awesome" for instance or @handle -”bad".

Check GitHub profiles to see if they changed their status to hireable and add them to your ATS

GitHub offers a really interesting piece of information to tech recruiters: Whether or not the user set his status to hireable. If you’re interested in really specific profiles, this can be a great way to be the first one to reach out to them and to surprise them with your reactivity.

Once their status changes, this workflow will instantly create a new contact in your Applicant Tracking System. Here we chose Greenhouse but many other pieces of software are Zapier compatible.

Notify your Sales Team with Slack notification after each interesting scraping

One of our favorite features in Zapier is the ability to filter results between triggers and actions. This workflow is pretty simple but will allow any growth-hacker to deliver extra-fresh leads to his sales team for instance. Every time a Phantombuster scraper ends its job, filter the results, keep the ones that are the most valuable and instantly notify the right salesperson.

Forward him all the necessary data: name, contact information but also the latest commented or written articles on LinkedIn or Twitter so he can not only be the first one to call but also the most informed about his prospect.

Scan Craigslist everyday and auto email some announcers

Phantombuster, Craigslist Page Scraper + Gmail, Send Email.

Using Craigslist to monitor specific announces is good, but it’s even better to be the first one to reach the announcer. Combining Phantombuster and Zapier is a great way to make sure that you don’t miss any opportunity on Craigslist because of low reaction time.

Find the social profiles of everyone in your CRM

Tighten your relationship with everyone in your CRM: Each time a new person is added, give basic data to Phantombuster so it can find as many Social Media profiles available for this new lead. This workflow is a good first step, but you can obviously plug in a Phantombuster Auto-Follow to every profile you find.

Auto-save to Dropbox or Google Drive all the media you extracted from Instagram and Twitter.

Creative people need a lot of content. How about you give precise instructions to Phantombuster about what you’re looking for (a @user or a #hashtag) and let it extract all related content? Have it saved directly into your Google Drive or Dropbox or automatically publish it on Pinterest or Twitter.

Always be present in your niche’s discussions

Rather than browsing forums and groups in search of your target keywords, have they come to you. This workflow will gather all hot new posts from the Sub-Reddits of your choice and create for each one a new Airtable row.

You can use the same strategy with LinkedIn articles, Tweets or Instagram pics with more than X likes or comments from specific influencers and extract them to the same Airtable database or Asana, Jira, Trello, etc.

What’s your workflow? What are your results? Let us know in the comment below so we can keep improving our Zapier integration!
