Me giving a talk during Berlin UI/UX Meetup #32 đź‘€

As of this summer, our small community team has been based in Berlin, and we couldn’t love the city more. Berlin is home to some of the world’s best designers and most exciting tech companies.

Last week at the Berlin UI/UX Meetup we had the opportunity to meet even more amazing designers based in the city. The event took place in Lidl Digital’s office, where more than 100 people gathered to listen to talks, meet with old and new friends, and drink some Glühwein 🍷.

I had the honor of giving the first talk. The presentation was all about conditional logic in prototyping, why it matters and how we as designers can prototype multi-flow apps visually. If you would like to learn more about any of the above, be sure to check out our recent article on how we made if/else statements simple and easily applicable in Phase.

Everyone got a chance to refill their cups during the short break that followed, and then Alex Dapunt from Berlin-based SumUp took the stage. For those unfamiliar with SumUp, they provide merchants with hardware for taking card payments.

In his presentation, Alex used the analogy of raising a child when talking about the growth of SumUp’s design team. And I have to admit that this parallel rang true for me in many different ways!

If you would like to attend one of the best Berlin UI/UX Meetups, be sure to join their Meetup.com group. In my honest opinion, it’s one of the best design meetups in the whole city!

And if you happen to be in Berlin this Thursday, we are having our own Phase Community Berlin Meetup. Come to have some beers and pizza with us! If you aren’t able to show up in person, we will host a live stream as well.
