I have worked as an Editor at Light Reading since May 2017, editing TechX365 and being the main contributor of content. I have written hundreds of posts (roughly 1-2 a day, sometimes more) and edited many, many more from both internal and external sources. The viewership of the site has doubled in the time I have been there.

Before that, I worked for Android Police as a writer since March 2016. In that time, I wrote over 300 posts, which you can see here. My posts received thousands of views, with a select few going above 100,000. Listed below are a few of these posts, chosen to show a breadth to my writing, with a short description alongside. The below was written when I worked for Android Police.

New customers can get unlimited data, calls, and texts for $50 on Sprint — a post on Sprint’s four-day promotion for new customers.

Mozilla launches new brand identity after seven months of public consultations — Mozilla’s new-for-2017 logo and brand image, which it presented with a YouTube video.

Slideshow being tested in Facebook app after iOS debut back in June — a feature that Facebook added to its Android app. This story was picked up by TechCrunch and Engadget, on which they mentioned Android Police by name sourced us.

Samsung announces Chromebook Plus and Pro, both with 360° hinges and stylus pens — a popular post on the new Samsung Chromebooks, launched at CES 2017, featuring touchscreens, Android app compatibility, rotating 360° hinges, and active stylus pens

[Deal Alert] Bridge Constructor Playground is available for $0.10 in many countries (not in US) — a post in the ‘Deal Alert’ series, highlighting an on-sale game in the Google Play Store.

Facebook has yet another Snapchat competitor, Flash, for emerging markets — a post highlighting Facebook’s Snapchat clone, Flash, which is significant as it continues the ‘Facebook is scared of Snapchat’s popularity’ storyline, which I’ve been tracking personally at Android Police for a few months.

BlackBerry’s DTEK60 is official, available today for $499 — announcing the availability of BlackBerry’s newest smartphone, the DTEK60, which had been leaked in the weeks previously.

Google Photos now has albums included in search results — a long-standing bug that Google fixed, and I investigated and wrote about.

Android 7.1 feature spotlights series: 1, 2, 3 — one of Android Police’s most popular series, feature spotlights highlight a new feature in the most recent release of Android. These can get incredibly nitpicky sometimes, but we love them!

Buying a Pixel phone means free, unlimited Photos storage for pictures and video at maximum quality — a post written during ‘Pixel Day,’ the day Google announced its new products for 2016. The other post that day is here, on Google Home; I had been assigned to write anything about these two subjects prior to the press conference starting.

[Update: APK Download] Facebook releases Messenger Lite, a cut-down version of Messenger for emerging markets —a post in the [APK Downloads] series, whereby an app that is hard to get hold of is uploaded to Android’s Police’s sister site, APK Mirror, for everyone to use. This particular post was on Messenger Lite, a cut-down, stripped back version of the Facebook Messenger app, a notorious battery and resource hog.

OnePlus partners with O2 to sell the OnePlus 3 in the UK, available from September 29 — a UK-specific post on the OnePlus 3 ‘s availability at O2, a UK phone network.

WiFi Assistant can secure manually connected non-secure networks as of Play services 9.6 — a new, seemingly small feature that got a fair amount of attention. Earlier coverage, also by me, here.

[Deal Alert] Motorsport Manager 0.10 worldwide, LapseIt Pro 0.10 in UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia, Russia — motorsport and technology, my two favorite things! Another [Deal Alert] post, again on the 0.10 app offers Google does weekly.

Google is testing a new Inbox search UI, may be first indication of “virtual assistant" — A very popular post on Google Inbox, a well-used Gmail client.

Google is working on an insane navbar customizer, currently hidden in 7.0–as mostly power users, Android Police’s readers are very keen on being able to customize Android to the highest degree, hence why this post got over 5500 upvotes on /r/Android, the largest Android community.

Through my time at Android Police, I have shown I can write well and explain hard-to-understand concepts to readers, or sum up a press release in 200 words or so. I am proud of my work and hope to continue there for the forseeable future.
